About the Instructor: With a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Art and 20 years of experience as a professional K-12 Art Teacher, I specialize in providing a high-level educational foundation for every student. As a career art educator, I have a deep understanding of how to break down complex artistic concepts into fun, manageable steps for all ages and skill levels.

My Studio Philosophy:

Absolute Beginners Welcome: I specialize in introducing new artists to Drawing, Watercolor, and Acrylic in a way that is enjoyable and stress-free.
Small Group Learning: To ensure personalized, hands-on attention, all classes are limited to 6 students or less.
Expert Pedagogy: My two decades in the art classroom ensure that every lesson is structured for success, combining classical techniques with a supportive environment.

My Story

I have always been an artist. My youngest memories are trying to struggle to draw the perfect horse. I did struggle with that and other drawings for years! I learned that just because you have an idea or an image in your head, does not mean you can get it onto the canvas or the paper. That is the hard part.

I found that creating art, drawing or painting, is a skill that anyone can learn. You don't need to have talent or a "gift". Learning art is a steady practice of easily learned skills, like playing the piano or baseball. It can be fun and enriching. Anyone can learn to be a good artist. They just need the desire.

I am a lifelong resident of St. Petersburg and cannot imagine living anywhere else.
